Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva Shinkocchou Seihou

The S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva Shinkocchou Seihou is the missing link to complete all Showa to Heisei main riders in the said line - from Ichigou to ZI-O. Out of the box, the figure is missing some parts to complete the over all look. First are the left and right holsters that you need to slide each 6 of the Fuestles then plug them both on each side of the belt. You do need to make sure that you punch it all the way in to ensure that these are fully secured. More to this on the video review after the jump.
Kivat is a working piece with it wings that slide out and in similar to how it does on the show and also on the DX. This clamps on the upper bar of the belt then folds back to complete the entire look of the figure. Other parts include 5 additional hands and the wake up leg for his right side and an adaptor for the Tamashii Stage to let Kivat float. The tamashii stage unfortunately is not included. Last to note on Kivat is he has a moving mouth to bite any of the Fuestles. It is not a perfect bite but it works.

The wake up leg has the same soft plastic material as the belt and I can foresee possible warping when exposed to humid or very warm conditions. This is just a easy swap but I caution everyone to be very gentle when removing the armored leg out of Kiva.

The arrival of Kiva in the S.H. Figuarts line feels like a culmination of all the years of collecting Kamen Rider figures since its introduction in 2008. The figure itself is highly poseable despite the huge pieces the surrounds it. I’m unable to find huge faults but additional hands could have been nicer. I didn’t get the 20 kamen rider commemorative stage since I didn’t preorder this earlier. But I do want to warn you to be gentle on Kivat’s legs when you clip it on the belt as I can see novice collectors breaking this in one way or another.
