Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider 2 Shinkocchou Seihou

Out of the box, unlike Kamen Rider 1, you need to attach one of the scarf joints on to the neck ball joint to complete Kamen Rider Nigou’s look and feel. The figure has some similarities to Kamen Rider 1, but aside from the color change to red, there are creases and folds on the body not found between the figures. The set includes and additional scarf joint, a pair of antenna spares, 8 hands and a clasped version where you are able to shake hands between Kamen Rider 1 and Kamen Rider 2.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Kamen Rider Amazon gets another take as part of the S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou project. Before we start, you need to attach one of the available scarfs on to the neck of the figure. Amazon now has crisp colors and some new twists on the articulation which I will detail later during this video review. Amazon still retains the moving mouth gimmick similar to its first release. His Gigi Armlet is now more detailed versus the first release.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Decade Neo Decadriver Shinkocchou Seihou

Destroyer of Worlds returns to the S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou line as now updated with the NeoDecadriver. This version of Kamen Rider Decade has a darker shade of magenta while retaining the same body type. His NeoDecadriver has all 18 Heisei rider emblems arranged from Kuuga to Build in clockwise position and the actual holder for the driver has changed from grey to black.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Hardboilder 2.0

Before the Skullboider had a makeover in S.H. Figuarts we have the Hardboilder, Kamen Rider W’s main vehicle to match for the Shinkocchou Seihou line even it doesn’t say that it is. But it is implied with Kamen Rider W Shinkocchou Seihou version on the box. Modeled after the Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle, the changes from the original Hardboilder are height and length, the back seat pan is flatter paint applications are closer from to actual car paint. The bike still has working parts such as the kickstand, the spring at the back wheels and the fork moves left to right. This has a hole at the bottom to insert the Tamashii arm but his is not included in the set. What is included is a small transparent stand for the rear wheel.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kuuga Ultimate Form (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Kamen Rider Kuuga’s final form in the original series gets an updated look and feel for the S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou line. Aside from the body type, height and the belt with the Arcle, the figure uses a matte finish and the veins running through the body has a more solid color. This set includes 10 hands and the dark eyes head.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kuuga Rising Mighty Form (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Kuuga’s golden form enters the Shinkocchou Seihou line of S.H. Figuarts with the Rising Mighty Form. Kuuga's Golden Power affects its base form with its additional gold trimmings and extensions and the mark of power (chikara (力) written in ancient Linto) on the back of Kuuga's hands. There are additional marks as well on the shin called the Mighty Anklet with ancient Linto language. The set has about 9 additional hand replacements, more than the base form.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Bandai has recently released the updated version of the S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo for the Shinkocchou Seihou line. As expected the body is now more proportionate with a thicker torso and more rounded head. Out of the box, just to let you know that the figure doesn’t have the medals slotted in the OOO driver. I will discuss the medals in a bit.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kuuga Mighty Form (Shinkocchou Seihou)

S.H. Figuarts line has updated their version first Heisei rider for the Shinkocchou Seihou line. The biggest difference and the most obvious is the molding. The entire body is now stockier, and the head is rounder than of the first release. Colours are more vibrant and if compared to the photos of the actual suit, it is now closer – even to other figure lines such as your RAH or Project BM. The set only comes with 7 replacement hands.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva Shinkocchou Seihou

The S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva Shinkocchou Seihou is the missing link to complete all Showa to Heisei main riders in the said line - from Ichigou to ZI-O. Out of the box, the figure is missing some parts to complete the over all look. First are the left and right holsters that you need to slide each 6 of the Fuestles then plug them both on each side of the belt. You do need to make sure that you punch it all the way in to ensure that these are fully secured. More to this on the video review after the jump.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider 1 (Shinkocchou Seihou)

One of the first Showa riders to come back to the S.H. Figuarts is Kamen Rider 1 or Ichigou for the Shinkocchou Seihou line. Out of the bat the most prominent change since the initial release is the zipper line on the torso and the weathered look of the green parts of the chest. The chest armor does have some additional joint to have more leeway to move the arms. There are additional cuts on the shoulders as well and the entire body is more proportioned to his head.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kickhopper and Punchhopper (Shinkocchou Seihou)

The S.H. Figuarts Kickhopper and Punchhopper coming to the Shinkocchou Seihou line had a lot of improvements from the first editions. First, the colours for both new version are shaper while the previous ones looked saturated. Next are the compound eyes on Punchhopper are now in silver than green and the highlights are more golden than bronze-ish. On KickHopper, its green parts are sharper the lines more accurate. The jewels are more prominent and obvious and the transformation belts are sleeker than just plain blocks.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Accel (Shinkocchou Seihou)

When it was announced that Kamen Rider Accel will get its Shinkocchou Seihou take, I was curious what would the improvements be on a almost perfect figure. Upon unboxing, the first thing you will notice is how refined this is. The grill is now slimmer, the compound eyes and visor have a more sharper contour and now you can see the speedometer on the driver and the logo of the memory are crispier. The memory can be placed on the accel driver and the entire transformation belt can be detached if wanted to.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gatack (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Coming into the Shinkocchou Seihou line, Kamen Rider Gatack’s rider form sets a feeling of nostalgia to those who have been collecting S.H. Figuarts line since the start. The difference is that the gold trims are more prominent especially on the chest. The chest is also in one seamless plate rather than having 2 sections for movement. At least the default Zecter is more detailed and closer to accuracy since Shinkoccou figures technically have a larger frame that its predecessor.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Decade (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Another rider taking helm in the Shinkocchou Seihou line is Kamen Rider Decade. Aside from the obvious update from a five-year-old mold, the superb details lie on the belt. This one have all past rider logos and the buttons are now colored. Looking at the paint apps, this is now truer to his magenta motif that also is now more fluid that the previous release.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Agito Ground (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Agito Ground Form coming into the S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou line is not the most exciting release for the said premium edition but there are things to be said and why this should be picked up. Updates aside from the body type, the gem on the chest is now more transparent making the details inside more prominent. Next is the Alter Ring or Agito’s Henshin belt is now closer to your DX belt should you have one and more accurate at that.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style (Shinkocchou Seihou)

When comparing the old and the new side by side, the difference is very obvious. Starting from the height of the figure, details from the marks and emblems on the head and shoulders, even the build has been improved with the Shinkocchou having a more humanoid look. We now have a somewhat working Wizard Driver with the hand turns left or right and the tabs go up and down accordingly.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Skullboilder 2.0

If Bandai made an upgraded version of Kamen Rider Skull, might as well get a makeover of his bike the Skullboilder in S.H. Figuarts. It doesn’t say that this is for the Shinkocchou Seihou line but from the initial look, it is meant to fit well with the new Kamen Rider Skull. The paint applications have been changed to a more matte finish. Rubber tires work just nicely and so as the spring swing arm at the rear wheels. The track forks do move with the handlebars left and right. The gauge has more detail and overall refined which is a better touch than the EX version. Similarly with the EX version this set only has 1 rear tire support if you do not need the kickstand.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Skull (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Out of the box Kamen Rider Skull will definitely look incomplete so you need the Skull Memory to place in to his Lost Driver, his fedora and the scarf to complete the look. The collar that wrings around his neck doesn’t hold in place unlike Eternal so you do need to peg the ball-jointed extended scarf piece to fix and lock it in on his back. The default look is what most of the fans recognize with the skull mask with the a huge S. The rest of the body used the Shinkocchou Seihou version of Kamen Rider W and changed the chest area to affirm Skull’s theme. More to this after the jump.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Eternal (Shinkocchou Seihou)

Kamen Rider Eternal from the movie A to Z/The Gaia Memories of Fate has been updated after 7 years for Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou line. But before I get on to the knitty-gritty of things, lets set up first the Eternal Memory and place this inside the slot of the Lost Driver. If you have been following this series, Gaia memories can also be inserted on the Maximum Drive slot. Out of the box, Eternal is already in Strengthening Armament mode. You will be immediately struck by the colorful array of all 26 Gaia memories placed on each part of the sling from the upper body, right bicep and left thigh that were not available on the first release. The blue flames on the arms now envelopes the inner joints and feels like the paint is embossed. On the chest, the top 2 Gaia Memories and their accompanied slots are detachable. I’ll explain more about this later.

Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Rider Form (Renewal, 2.0)

It is seems like Bandai is banking a lot in this new subset (Shinkocchou Seihou) of S.H. Figuarts starting with Kamen Rider Kabuto. Call it renewal version or Kabuto 2.0, the figure now boasts more true to life sculpt that went through vigorous research even on how the suit actor moves on the show. Unlike the first version, this new Kabuto is bulkier and more humanoid in action.
