Toy Review: D-Arts Black Zero

Considered as an upgrade armor or an evil copy, Bandai Tamashii Nations didn’t think twice in releasing the D-Arts Black Zero from Capcom’s Megaman X game. Aside from the obvious black and grey color motif, Black Zero has sharp cornered shoulder pads and silver and gold buster arm. Unlike his red version, Black Zero has gem ornaments on both ankles.

Toy Review: D-Arts Megaman X Ultimate Armor

D-Arts Megaman (Rockman) X Ultimate Armor represents the most powerful form in the game franchise. His violet base frame is highlighted even more with the clear blue accents on the shoulders, arms and legs. There are slight hints of golden wings just above the shoulder parts and near the ankles.

Toy Review: D-Arts Forte and Gospel (Bass and Treble)

Whether you know them as Bass and Treble or Forte and Gospel, this D-Arts set includes two figures much like the classic Rockman release. Forte out of the box already has his Forte Buster already attach on his right arm together with an almost accurate head and body sculpt. What takes your breath away are the nicely applied paint details but was slightly disappointed with the small gaps that glued some of his parts together.

Toy Review: D-Arts Rockman (Classic)

This is a review of the classic blue bomber D-Arts Rockman - a homage to the 1990s version game classic from Capcom. I would coin this as Rockman 3 just because Rush is included who debuted on said version of the game. As a kid, I almost finished every single Rockman game in the Nintendo Family Computer system before SNES was later introduced in the market.  I would play for hours and ask friends on the patterns for boss fights. This is the reason why I only picked up this version among previous Megaman/Rockman D-arts releases.

Toy Review: D-Arts Terry Bogard (King Of Fighters '94)

This is my review of the D-Arts Terry Bogard from King Of Fighters '94 (even though he started in Fatal Fury).  It is a first for Bandai to delve in to the gaming genre and what a way to start is with KOF. The package design may be like what Bandai used to do with most of their offerings, a photo of the toy in front then accessory and poseability details at the back. To stay true for fans of the gaming genre, it is nostalgic to have the sequences and joystick combinations on each of the figure's signature poses.

Bandai Teases D-Arts Samurai Showdown

After the release of Terry Bogard in the D-Arts line-up, Bandai has recently posted a teaser of their next project. From the silhouette, and most have guessed it right, this could be Samurai Showdown's Haohmaru.

Haohmaru is one of the main playable characters in  SNK's brainchild for their Neo Geo arcade game -  Samurai Showdown (aka Samurai Spirits (サ(ムライスピリッツ Samurai Supirittsu). Hoahmaru is loosely based around the famed Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. His popular moves are the Hurricane Attack, Energy Slash and Deflection. Release date and price has yet to be announced.

D-Arts Street Fighter Might Happen on 2013?

It is no surprise that from the recent promotion of the latest designs in the D-Arts line gave birth to Terry Bogard from the game King of Fighters. During team Amiami's visit to the TAMASHII NATIONS Akiba Showroom, there was a special display of D-Arts humanoids in various and well-known fighting game poses. Some of which had tags showcasing fighting game button configurations and if you can remember these, some of the patterns would remind you of Chun-Li, Ken or Ryu from Street Fighter and Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting/King of Fighters franchises. It would be no surprise if it actually happens on 2013 since Bandai has been covering a lot for the past year. This is just mere a speculation on my observation, who knows, these gaming franchises might be included in the D-Arts sooner than we thought.

D-Arts Terry Bogard Seen On SDCC

First seen in Tamashii Nations 2011 event, D-Arts Terry Bogard has made his way to San Diego Comic Con on display. This means there is a huge chance that the rest of the King of Fighters character might arrive as well in the shores of U.S. and of Canada through Bluefin Tamashii Nations USA. (I understand the photo covers only the lower limbs but the resemblance is obvious).

Earlier on, we reported that Tamashii Nations' current humanoid offering will evolve once again with more detailed and seamless joint design. In one image there is a pose that looks like a shoryuken position. Since D-Arts will be releasing the KOF line, it is more likely the Street Fighter franchise will follow suit. Stay tuned for more updates.
